Hello there Internets. I’m live blogging from the show floor.
Since Saturday, I have basically spent my life being camped out at our booth, making sure all electrical cords are working, collateral is looking pretty, no one has stolen my martini displays with the blue flashing light drink stirrers (which are actually, a HUGE hit…magic wand giveaways for leads with children? Hi, I rock.), making sure my salesguy are listening to me, entering leads and generally looking pretty while kicking ass and taking names. Whew.
Hi. My name is Barbie, and I’m EXHAUSTED.
Like, at the end of the day collapse on my bed for a 3 hour nap before pulling myself together for client dinners, or, in the case of last night, ordering room service and entering in show leads and sending out confirmation emails warmly snuggled up in my fluffy hotel bed.
I know, rough life. But seriously. Being nice and helping people all day, and being “on?” Dude. It’s exhausting. On the flip side, however, there is a booth caddycorner from us with some major hotties. One in particular, who since the first day, marched himself over to me and struck up a conversation….and has been coming back every day since, a couple times a day and flirting quite outrageously, thus becoming the highlite of my days on the show floor. (You know, aside from having my pre-show marketing vehicles work and have tons of people talking about MY mailers and such. YAY!) Anyway, It’s amazing the power of a comment: “I don’t mean to overstep any lines here, but I had to tell you, your legs look amazing in that dress….” can have. NO, it was not creeepy, because yesteday, he asked me on a date this evening. Which I happily obliged. This was even after I managed to bang my head on the huge LCD TV screen Monday when we were exchanging cards.
Because I’m totally smooth like that.
He’s a southern gentleman with an accent to boot…and we all know how Barbie loves the southern boys…so…point in case….Barbie in trouble. Le sigh. BUT, BUUUUUT!!!!! On to the one man who is currently somehow consuming my thoughts (despite the eye candy in front of me all day)….
Rockstar has been oh so sweet, and we’ve talked/texted every day/night since I’ve been here, and he’s oh so looking forward to my trip to Nashville. Which I’m quite excited about too. But nervous about, because hi. When am I ever completely calm when it involves the Rockstar. Anyway. Looking very much forward to that, and I GET TO SEE HIM TOMORROW. Yay. Damnit. I really like him a lot more than I thought I did. Especially when he tells me “you kick ass at your job, don’t stress, and everything is going to be okay. Thursday will be here soon enough and I have lots and hugs and kisses waiting for you.”
This is so not good. This whole being totally smitten and all. This was definitely not the plan.
Anyway. Must get back to being queen marketing woman and taking care of business…but wanted to extend a hello and let you all know I have not forgotten about you…I’ll be sure to blog tomorrow about the maybe “date,” my nerves about Nashville, and lord only knows what else.
Much love. Peace out, bitches.
xo, B

I don’t know. I kinda think it is good. You have OPTIONS. You have people who WANT YOU. You have people to whom you MEAN SOMETHING. That is good. No reason to limit yourself at the moment. If something changes, it changes. In the meantime, you’re popular. Go you.
