(*Please note that I am still accepting questions and will answer them in Friday’s post…there are some really good ones so far, keep ‘em coming! And to those lurkers out there, you TOTALLY make me day when you say hi! Seriously!)
On my drive home from work yesterday evening, I took a break from the rockstar’s CD (which has been in the player for months now), and flipped on the radio. The sun was shining through my sunroof, the promise of Spring with all its qualities of renewal and rebirth after a cold, harsh winter…well…it just consumed me.
I don’t know if it was the warmth of the sun on my skin, or the hope that perhaps the barren, cold and dark months, filled with days I’ve trudged through, that I thought would never end are finally, FINALLY over…but I found myself acutely aware of a song that began to play on the radio. As I sat in traffic and listened to the lyrics, I found myself lifting my head, and smiling.
And in that simple moment it struck me; time has once again done what it does best.
It heals.
As I drove on, my heart felt just a little lighter…and that feeling, is what I’ll remember the next time those proverbial clouds and April showers come out to play in my mind as they sometimes do. Because as sure as the seasons will pass, and Spring will turn to Summer then Fall, and back to Winter once more…time brings with it the promise of healing.
And sometimes, thats all we can hope for.
Oh
How ’bout a round of applause?
Yeah
Standin ovation
Ohwoah Yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeahYou look so dumb right now
Standin’ outside my house
Tryin’ to apologize
You’re so ugly when you cry
Please
Just cut it outDon’t tell me you’re sorry,
Cause you’re not,
And baby when I know,
You’re only sorry you got caughtBut you put on quite a show.
Really had me goin’
But now it’s time to go,
Curtain’s finally closin’.
That was quite a show.
Very entertainin’.
But it’s over now.
Go on and take a bow.Grab your clothes and get gone.
You better hurry up,
Before the sprinklers come on.
Talkin ’bout,
‘Girl I love you, you’re the one.’
This just looks like a rerun.
Please.
What else is on?And don’t tell me you’re sorry,
Cause you’re not.
Baby when I know,
You’re only sorry you got caught. But you put on quite a show.
Really had me goin’
But now it’s time to go,
Curtain’s finally closin’.
That was quite a show.
Very entertainin’.
But it’s over now.
Go on and take a bow.And the award for the best lie goes to you!
For makin’ me believe
That you could be faithful to me.
Let’s hear your speech. How ’bout a round of applause?
Standin’ ovationBut you put on quite a show.
Really had me goin’
But now it’s time to go,
Curtain’s finally closin’.
That was quite a show.
Very entertainin’.
But it’s over now.
Go on and take a bow.
But it’s over now.

I wish i had a sunroof. Well a real one, not a roof with a hole in it. Not saying I have that, but you know.
Glad you feel better.

When I heard this song for the first time? I totally thought of you and you. I’m not even kidding. It made me very … proud of you? I just knew those words would fit you well, and it made me happy that you’re that strong.
I’m weird, aren’t I?
Heart you, Barbz.

Gah, I want to know who the Rockstar is! It’s extremely frustrating, you know that?
And I love that feeling of being light and free. Need it back, ASAP. Maybe a sunroof would help?

Sunroofs are a godsend. And I’m glad that your mood was lifted
What songs are on the Rockstar’s cd? Have you said before? If so, sorry… but it intrigues me.

What are you going to name your future children?
And asshat is a fucker and you totally deserve to be where you’re at right now. You even got me all optimistic and shit. I just asked about babies.

My questions is… kinda boring but hey… where do you see yourself in 10 years?
And I probably don’t comment as often as I should but I do read your blog everyday!

I loves me some summer. It was 72 degrees and sunny today. I did most of my reading in the quad, and I’d be reading blogs/typing my paper out there if I had a laptop.

I’m one of your ‘lurkers’… but I totally *heart* your blog – you manage to express (very eloquently) many things that I’ve felt or lived through in the past.
I love that feeling – the one where you just suddenly realize that it’s not as hurtful/painful/heart wrenching as it once was. I am so glad to hear that you are having that ‘healing feeling’.
As for your questions, I would like to ask you… what color is your car? & if it could be any color, what would it be?
April 20, 2008 at 9:08 pm
De-lurking to say — Yaaaaayyyy for you!! Whether is was the sun, the song, or Spring, I am so glad you are on your way to feeling better. I just found your blog yesterday. Lurve it already.

Isn’t that the best feeling in the world, when you just feelt a shift….and all of sudden that darkness that was inside completely, fades? I love that. cheers to that. AND I LOVE. RIHANNA.

I’m delurking to make sure that you are okay. I was (and, I’m sure, others were) looking forward to reading your answers to our probing questions. Strange things are afoot at the Circle K when two days pass without a Barbie update!
Keep up the fab blog — love your work.
